The SC16ML1S18 is a size 16 stamped and formed socket contact from the SC-M series, designed for use in Souriau-Sunbank TRIM TRIO connector systems. It accepts 16-18 AWG wire and features a crimp termination with an open barrel design. The contact body is made of high-conductive copper alloy with a gold plating of 0.75µm minimum in the contact area and a flash on the crimp barrel over nickel underplate. A stainless steel retaining spring provides contact retention within the housing cavity and a closed entry socket to prevent probe damage.
Electrical performance includes a current rating of 13 A. Mechanical characteristics specify a maximum insertion force of 3.5 N, a minimum withdrawal force of 0.55 N, and a minimum contact retention force of 65 N. The contact is supplied as loose piece packaging in quantities of 100 pieces per package. It is intended for free-hanging (cable) mounting applications.
The SC16ML1S18 is RoHS3 compliant (unverified) and has an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited). It is suitable for high-volume production with lower installed cost when used with semi or fully automatic crimp tooling.
