The SBR1A40S3-7 is a 1A, 40V Super Barrier Rectifier (SBR) diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed for efficient rectification in power conversion circuits. It utilizes patented SBR technology to achieve a low forward voltage drop of 550mV maximum at 1A forward current, combined with low reverse leakage current of 100µA maximum at 40V. The device can handle a non-repetitive peak forward surge current of 20A and has a typical junction capacitance of 55pF at 4V reverse bias.
This rectifier offers fast recovery switching with a speed rating of less than 500ns at currents above 200mA, making it suitable for high-frequency applications. It is rated for an operating junction temperature range of -65°C to +150°C, with a maximum junction temperature of 150°C. Thermal resistance is specified as 473°C/W on FR-4 PCB and 407°C/W on polyimide PCB with minimum recommended pad layout.
The SBR1A40S3-7 is packaged in a surface-mount SOD-323 case (SC-76 equivalent). The package uses green molding compound, matte tin finish terminals, and is rated MSL Level 1 per J-STD-020. It is supplied in tape and reel packaging with 3000 units per reel. The device is fully RoHS3 compliant, lead-free, and halogen-free. An automotive-compliant variant (SBR1A40S3Q) is available under a separate datasheet.
