The Vishay Dale SB340 is a Schottky Barrier Plastic Rectifier designed for low voltage, high frequency applications such as inverters, freewheeling circuits, DC/DC converters, and polarity protection.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 40V, a maximum average forward rectified current of 3A, and a low maximum instantaneous forward voltage of 0.49V at 3A. The device operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to +125°C.
Mechanically, the SB340 is housed in a DO-201AD package. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, and the terminals are matte tin plated, suitable for soldering per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102 standards. The color band on the device indicates the cathode end.
This rectifier features a guardring for overvoltage protection, very small conduction losses, extremely fast switching, and high forward surge capability, making it suitable for demanding applications.
