The SAA7199B by Phihong USA is a monolithic integrated CMOS video encoder circuit designed for encoding digital baseband color and video data into analog Y, C, and CVBS signals, including S-video.
This device operates with a digital supply voltage ranging from 4.5V to 5.5V and an analog supply voltage from 4.75V to 5.25V, with a typical total supply current of 200mA. It accepts TTL-compatible input signal levels and provides analog output voltages of Y, C, and CVBS with a typical peak-to-peak value of 2V. The circuit features three 8-bit signal inputs for RGB, YUV, or indexed color signals, and includes three 9-bit digital-to-analog converters.
Flexibility is provided through MPU-bus (parallel) or I2C-bus (serial) programming facilities. The SAA7199B supports square pixel and CCIR input data rates, and offers optional GENLOCK operation with adjustable horizontal sync timing and subcarrier phase. It also includes features like autonomous internal blanking and optional still video capture extension.
The SAA7199B is supplied in a PLCC84 package and is suitable for surface mount applications. Its operating ambient temperature range is from 0°C to 70°C.
