The SA8.5A is a 500W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features an 8.5V reverse standoff voltage and a breakdown voltage range of 9.44V to 10.4V at 1mA test current. The clamping voltage is 14.4V at a peak pulse current of 35.4A under a 10/1000μs waveform.
This TVS diode offers a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum. It provides ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2. The device is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial-leaded through-hole package and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C.
The SA8.5A is halogen-free, lead-free (Pb-free E3), and RoHS compliant. Its plastic package has a flammability rating of V-0 per UL.
