The SA6.5A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 6.5 V, a breakdown voltage range of 7.22 V to 7.98 V at 1 mA test current, and a maximum clamping voltage of 11.2 V under a 10/1000 μs waveform. With a peak pulse power dissipation of 500 W and a peak pulse current rating of 46 A, it provides robust protection. The device also offers a peak forward surge current of 70 A for unidirectional operation. The TVS diode utilizes Zener technology and is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) through-hole package with axial leads. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and is suitable for general purpose applications such as protecting ICs, MOSFETs, and sensor lines in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment.
