The SA5.0A is a 500W unidirectional TVS diode designed for protecting sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 5V and a clamping voltage of 9.2V at a peak pulse current of 57A (10/1000μs waveform).
The device features a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, a peak forward surge current of 70A (8.3ms), and steady state power dissipation of 3.0W at TL=75°C. It is built with a glass passivated chip junction and is halogen free, RoHS compliant, and Pb-free E3.
The SA5.0A is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded package for through-hole mounting. It is suitable for general purpose protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
Design considerations include low incremental surge resistance and typical reverse leakage current less than 1μA when breakdown voltage exceeds 13V. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C (junction).
