The Littelfuse SA30 is a 500W transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a Zener technology with a single unidirectional channel.
With a peak pulse power dissipation of 500W (10/1000μs waveform), it provides a clamping voltage of 50.82V at a peak pulse current of 10.5A. The device has a fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum. It also offers a peak forward surge current of 70A (8.3ms single half sine wave) and a maximum steady state power dissipation of 3.0W at lead temperature 75°C.
The SA30 is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded package with through-hole mounting. It has a glass passivated chip junction and is RoHS compliant and halogen free. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C (junction), with storage from -65°C to 175°C.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is suitable for general purpose use where transient voltage protection is required.
