The Littelfuse SA28A is a 500W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 28V and a clamping voltage of 45.4V at a peak pulse current of 11.2A (10/1000μs waveform). The device utilizes a Zener breakdown mechanism and provides a fast response time of less than 1 ps from 0V to breakdown voltage.
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications such as protecting I/O interfaces, VCC buses, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It meets IEC-61000-4-2 ESD protection requirements with 30kV air and contact discharge ratings.
The SA28A is packaged in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded package with through-hole mounting. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C (datasheet indicates -65°C to 175°C). The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and has a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0.
