The SA20A is a unidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode manufactured by Littelfuse Inc. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. The device is part of the SA series of axial-leaded TVS diodes.
It has a reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) of 20V and a clamping voltage of 32.4V at a peak pulse current of 15.7A (10/1000μs waveform). The device can handle 500W peak pulse power dissipation. It is a Zener-type unidirectional diode with no power line protection.
The SA20A is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) through-hole package with axial leads. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. The package is flame retardant rated V-0 and features matte tin lead-free plating.
As part of the SA series, this TVS diode offers fast response time (typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage), low incremental surge resistance, and ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2. The device is halogen-free and RoHS compliant.
