The Littelfuse SA100A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from the SA series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 100V and a clamping voltage of 162V at a peak pulse current of 3.1A (10/1000µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 500W, it provides robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
The device features a glass passivated chip junction in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded package, with matte tin lead-free plating. It is RoHS compliant and halogen free. The SA100A also meets IEC-61000-4-2 ESD protection (30kV air, 30kV contact) and IEC-61000-4-4 EFT protection standards. Its fast response time (typically less than 1.0ps) and excellent clamping capability make it suitable for high-reliability designs. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C (junction).
