The S8MC-13 is a standard recovery rectifier diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed for surface mount assembly in a SMC (DO-214AB) package. It features a glass passivated junction for high reliability and a guard ring for transient protection. The device is rated for a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 1000 V and an average rectified output current of 8 A at 75°C (resistive/inductive load). Typical forward voltage drop is 985 mV at 8 A and 25°C. Reverse current is limited to 10 µA at rated voltage. The rectifier can withstand non-repetitive peak forward surge currents of 200 A for 8.3 ms and 450 A for 1.0 ms, with an I²t rating of 166 A²s. Junction capacitance is 40 pF at 4 V and 1 MHz. Operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C. The device is supplied in tape and reel (3000 pcs) and is RoHS compliant, halogen and antimony free. The case material is UL 94V-0 rated molded plastic with matte tin lead-free plating.
