The S3MB is a standard recovery rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, designed for general purpose rectification up to 1000V repetitive peak reverse voltage and 3A average forward current. It offers a maximum forward voltage of 1.15V at 3A and a typical reverse recovery time of 1.5µs. The device is capable of handling 80A peak forward surge current, making it suitable for applications requiring high inrush current tolerance.
The diode is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, with a junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of 148°C/W and junction-to-lead thermal resistance of 14°C/W. Operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C. It is RoHS compliant, Pb-free, halide free, and MSL 1 per J-STD-020.
Typical applications include power supply rectification, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection. The glass passivated chip junction ensures reliability in demanding environments.
