The S2M is a general-purpose rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, part of the S2 series. It is rated for a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 1000V and an average rectified forward current of 2.0A at 100°C ambient. The device features a low forward voltage drop of 1.15V maximum at 2.0A and a non-repetitive peak forward surge current of 50A (8.3ms half-sine wave). With a typical reverse recovery time of 2.0µs, it is classified as a standard recovery diode (>500ns). The S2M is built with a glass passivated junction for reliability. It is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to +150°C. Typical applications include power supplies, AC to DC rectification, and bypass diodes. The device is RoHS compliant and Pb-Free. UL certified (UL #E258596). Automotive qualified variants (NRV prefix) are available.
