The Vishay General Semiconductor S2J is a surface mount glass passivated rectifier housed in an SMB (DO-214AA) package. It is designed for general-purpose rectification applications in power supplies, inverters, converters, and as freewheeling diodes.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum average forward rectified current of 1.5A at 125°C, a peak forward surge current of 50A for 8.3ms, and a typical forward voltage drop of 1.15V. The device can withstand a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600V and a maximum DC blocking voltage of 600V.
This rectifier features a low profile package ideal for automated placement. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. Terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The operating and storage temperature range is from -55°C to +175°C.
Applications include consumer, automotive, and telecommunication power supplies, inverters, converters, and freewheeling diodes.
