The MG Chemicals RTV162-300ML is a ready-to-use, one-component silicone glue designed for electronics applications. This white silicone sealant exhibits excellent mechanical properties and cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, releasing a neutral alcohol vapor byproduct.
It is non-corrosive to electronics metals like copper and brass, making it suitable for bonding metallic components. The RTV162 retains its elastomeric properties over a wide temperature range, from -60°C (-75°F) to 205°C (400°F) for extended periods, and up to 260°C (500°F) for short durations. It also offers excellent resistance to moisture, dust, dirt, UV, ozone, and chemicals.
This silicone-based adhesive is a spreadable paste that cures to a tough, resilient silicone rubber. Due to its moisture cure system, it should not be applied in thicknesses greater than 6mm (1/4 in). The product holds UL94 HB recognition (File No. E-36952).
MG Chemicals offers other electronics grade silicone adhesives such as RTV167 (gray), RTV5818 (translucent), and 1035 (translucent). General-purpose silicone adhesive sealants include RTV102 (white), RTV103 (black), RTV106 (red, high temperature), and RTV108 (clear).
