The Momentive RTV123 is a one-component, ready-to-use silicone modified alkoxy adhesive sealant that cures to a tough, resilient silicone rubber upon exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. It is black in color and has a thixotropic paste consistency.
Key performance properties include primerless adhesion to many metals and plastics, non-corrosive characteristics to aluminum and steel, and lower odor cure compared to conventional silicone sealants. It exhibits excellent electrical insulation properties and retains elastomeric properties over a wide temperature range.
Mechanical specifications include a Shore A hardness of 30, an ultimate tensile strength of 1.72 MPa, and an elongation at break of 350%. The sealant also demonstrates good tear and peel strength.
