RT7240GSP

The Richtek RT7240GSP is a high-performance synchronous step-down DC/DC converter utilizing Advanced Constant On-Time (ACOT®) mode control. This design allows for high power density and delivers up to 5A of output current from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 18V. The ACOT® mode provides optimal transient response across various load conditions and supports the use of low ESR ceramic capacitors for stable performance.

Key electrical specifications include an adjustable output voltage ranging from 0.765V to 8V and a fixed switching frequency of 650kHz. The integrated synchronous power switches contribute to high efficiency across the entire output current load range, reaching up to 95%. The device features cycle-by-cycle current limiting for accurate protection and an adjustable soft-start function to prevent input current surges during startup.

This converter is housed in an 8-SOP-EP package and is designed for surface mount applications. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C (TA). Protection features include thermal shutdown and output over/under-voltage protection for specific variants.
