The RP100 is a propylene-ethylene random copolymer developed by Diotec Semiconductor for use in hot and cold water supply systems. This material is engineered for pressure pipe manufacturing, including applications such as tap water, under-floor heating, and industrial fluid transport.
Key characteristics of RP100 include good processability, outstanding rheological behavior, high creep resistance, and good impact strength, even at low temperatures. It also provides a better thickness profile and surface roughness for manufactured pipes.
The physical properties of RP100 include a typical melt flow index of 0.25 g/10min, a density of 0.91 g/cm3, and a tensile strength at yield of 290 kg/cm2. It exhibits an elongation at break of 500% and a flexural modulus of 9,000 kg/cm2. The Izod impact strength at 0℃ is 8 kgcm/cm, and the Rockwell hardness is 75 R-scale. The heat distortion temperature is 95 ℃.
This material is produced using a non-phthalate catalyst and complies with EU REACH regulation (Annex XIV). Pipes manufactured with RP100 meet the quality requirements of DIN 8078 or ISO/DIS 15874. Furthermore, Hanwha Total RP100 meets FDA requirements in 21 CFR 177.1520 for food contact applications.
