The RHRG75120 from On Semiconductor is a hyperfast recovery diode designed for high-efficiency power switching applications. It features a reverse voltage rating of 1200 V and an average forward current of 75 A, making it suitable for demanding rectification and freewheeling circuits.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum forward voltage of 3.2 V at 75 A and 25°C, and 2.6 V at 150°C. The reverse recovery time is typically 85 ns (minimum) and guaranteed maximum 100 ns at 75 A, ensuring minimal switching losses. The device also offers an avalanche energy rating of 50 mJ and a maximum power dissipation of 190 W.
Packaged in a TO-247-2 through-hole case, the diode provides excellent thermal performance with a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 0.8°C/W. It operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 175°C.
Typical applications include switching power supplies, power switching circuits, and general purpose freewheeling/clamping diode functions. The hyperfast soft recovery characteristic reduces ringing and electrical noise, improving overall system reliability.
