RF430FRL153HCRGER Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments RF430FRL153HCRGER is an active RFID Transponder designed for wireless connectivity applications. It operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and complies with ISO 15693, ISO 18000-3, and NFC standards.

This device features a 14-bit sigma-delta Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), an internal temperature sensor, and a resistive sensor bias interface. It is built around an MSP430 mixed-signal microcontroller with 2KB of FRAM, 4KB of SRAM, and 8KB of ROM. The supply voltage range is 1.45 V to 1.65 V, with low power consumption in active mode (140 µA/MHz at 1.5 V) and standby mode (16 µA).

The microcontroller architecture is 16-bit RISC, capable of up to 2-MHz CPU system clock speed. It includes a compact clock system with a 4-MHz high-frequency clock and a 256-kHz internal low-frequency clock source. Peripheral features include a 16-bit Timer_A with three capture/compare registers and an eUSCI_B module supporting SPI and I²C interfaces. A 32-bit Watchdog Timer (WDT_A) is also integrated.

The RF430FRL153HCRGER is available in a 24-VQFN (4x4 mm) package and is designed for surface mount applications. It offers a power supply system that can be powered by either a battery or the 13.56-MHz H-field supply.
