PCE-RCD 1 Description

Short technical summary and product information.
This residual current device (RCD) tester determines the tripping current and tripping time of residual current devices (RCDs). The various selectable test currents allow for extremely flexible use of this RCD tester. Residual current devices (RCDs) are present in every household electrical system. These interrupt the power supply as soon as a fault current occurs. RCD testers allow a fault current to flow and determine the level of fault current at which the residual current device (RCD) responds. The response time is also measured. These two parameters, tripping current and tripping time, are the safety-relevant parameters of an RCD. This RCD tester is very easy to use. In addition to the maximum test current, you can set the type of RCD (normal or selective) and whether the tripping current or tripping time should be measured. You can also select whether the test current should begin with a positive or negative half-wave. Once all settings have been configured, the measurement begins at the touch of a button. The RCD tester immediately provides a pass/fail rating based on the display color. You can read the measured value on the large LCD display. If the input voltage is too high, if there is no grounding, or if the ground potential exceeds 50 V, the RCD tester issues a warning signal.
