The R2040-S series of thin film chip resistors by US Microwaves are engineered for demanding applications in microwave hybrid circuits, specifically for biasing active components. These resistors are built using proprietary thin film technologies, offering a broad spectrum of sheet resistances from 1 Ω/sq to 10,000 Ω/sq, and individual resistor values ranging from 0.1 Ω to 1 MΩ.
Designed to meet stringent quality standards, these devices operate reliably over the full military temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The resistive material is high-stability Tantalum Nitride, ensuring a low temperature coefficient of resistance of less than 75 ppm/°C typical. The resistors feature a power rating of 200mW at 70°C and are available with tolerances of 1%, 5%, and 10%.
These chip resistors are supplied in a waffle pack and are suitable for surface mount applications. The bonding pads are constructed with 3 µm thick, 99.99% electroplated gold with a TiW barrier, and the backside of the die is metallized with TiW/Au for compatibility with most die attaching methods. Quality and workmanship adhere to MIL-S-883, Level B standards, with devices being 100% tested and visually inspected.
