The Recom Power R-78E3.3-0.5 is a high-efficiency switching regulator module designed as a pin-compatible replacement for linear 78-series regulators. It delivers a fixed 3.3V output at up to 500mA from a wide input voltage range of 6V to 28V (nominal 24V). With a typical efficiency of 88% at minimum input voltage and full load, the module requires no heatsink in most applications.
The R-78E3.3-0.5 features continuous short circuit protection, low output ripple and noise of 50mVp-p maximum, and a typical internal operating frequency of 570kHz. It offers line regulation of ±0.5% and load regulation of ±1.0%, with output accuracy of ±3.0%.
Housed in a compact 3-pin SIP3 package measuring 11.6mm x 8.5mm x 10.4mm, the module is through-hole mountable and compatible with standard 78-series regulator footprints. It is certified to IEC/EN60950-1 and is RoHS2+ and REACH compliant.
