The QT240-ISSG is a self-contained digital sensor IC capable of detecting near-proximity or touch on four electrodes. It allows electrodes to project independent sense fields through any dielectric like glass, plastic, stone, ceramic, and wood. This IC features continuous self-calibration and spread-spectrum modulation for EMC compliance.
Designed for human interfaces, the QT240-ISSG is suitable for applications such as instrument panels, gaming machines, access systems, appliance controls, and PC peripherals. It operates on a single supply voltage ranging from 3.9V to 5.5V and consumes a typical current of 90µA at 4V. The device is housed in a 20-SSOP package and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Each of the four channels operates independently and can be tuned for unique sensitivity levels by adjusting the sample capacitor value. The IC supports two speeds, one of which is optimized for low power consumption. It also features a SYNC pin for synchronization with other parts or an external source to suppress interference, and option pins for different timing and feature settings.
