The Vicor QPI-8LZ QUIETPOWER is an advanced hot-swap controller designed for DC/DC converter applications, incorporating an active EMI filter. It meets AdvancedTCA™ PICMG3.0 requirements for hot insertion and board-level noise limitations, providing common-mode and differential-mode noise attenuation from 150 kHz to 30 MHz.
This component is designed for 48 or 60 volt DC buses, with an input voltage range of 36-76 VDC and a maximum input of 80 Vdc. It includes a 12A in-rush current limit and a 6A delayed circuit breaker, suitable for up to 200W per board at 70°C. The QPI-8LZ features an efficiency greater than 99% and a low-profile LGA package, available in lidded or open-frame SiP formats.
Key specifications include 40 dB CM attenuation and 70 dB DM attenuation at 250 KHz. It operates within a -40°C to +125°C ambient temperature range and offers 1,500 Vdc hipot hold off. The Power Good output can control converter activation based on bus voltage.
Applications for the QPI-8LZ include ATCA blades, telecom base stations, IBA & distributed power systems, network switches and routers, optical line-cards, and TD-SCMA wireless infrastructure. Its compact size and integrated filtering reduce board space requirements.
The continuous input voltage range is 36 to 76 VDC, designed for 48V or 60V DC bus applications.
The maximum continuous input-to-output current is 5.5 Adc at 70°C ambient temperature.
The typical efficiency is greater than 99%.
The ambient operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C.
The QPI-8LZ is available in lidded SiP (25.3 x 25.3 x 5.2 mm) and open-frame SiP (24.9 x 24.9 x 4.4 mm) packages with LGA mounting.
It provides 40 dB common-mode attenuation and 70 dB differential-mode attenuation at 250 KHz (50Ω).
Yes, it includes a 6 A circuit breaker and in-rush current limiting to 12 A.
