The Pericom Semiconductor PI3DPX1203 is a DisplayPort compliant, 8Gbps link speed, single differential channel Linear ReDriver with Link Training transparent mode. It is ideal for USB Type-C sink and source-side applications with PD controllers. The ReDriver supports flexible placement for active cables, sink, and source sides.

 

This device offers programmable input equalization, output swing, and flat gain control to optimize performance over various physical mediums by reducing intersymbol interference. It features independent channel configuration and supports pin strap or I2C programming for device settings. The PI3DPX1203ZHEX operates at a 3.3V supply voltage and comes in a 42-pin TQFN package.

 

Applications include PCs and peripherals, as well as DisplayPort active cables. The transparent DisplayPort link training mode means the source and sink devices are unaware of the ReDriver, passing through all AUX transactions. This low latency transparency is beneficial for sink-side applications. The ReDriver also includes low-level input signal detection and an output squelch function.
