The PI2EQX3211BHEX from Diodes Incorporated is a versatile signal re-driver designed to enhance signal integrity in SATA applications. This device provides two independent 3.2Gbps differential channels, each supporting 100-Ohm Differential CML I/Os. It offers programmable equalization to optimize performance across various physical mediums by reducing Inter-Symbol Interference.
The re-driver integrates equalization circuitry for signal integrity before the re-driver and de-emphasis circuitry for signal integrity after the re-driver. A key feature is the input signal level detection and squelch function for each channel, ensuring reliable operation. The device operates within a VCC range of 1.5V to 1.8V and consumes low power, approximately 100mW per channel. It also includes a stand-by mode for power management.
Packaged in a 20-lead SSOP, the PI2EQX3211BHEX is suitable for surface mount applications. Its adjustable receiver equalization and signal conditioning capabilities make it ideal for extending signals across distant data pathways or through backplanes on user platforms.
