This KEMET PHE840M series capacitor is a metallized polypropylene film capacitor with self-extinguishing epoxy resin encapsulation in a radial box package. It offers a nominal capacitance of 2.2 µF with ±20% standard tolerance (tighter tolerances available on request). The component is rated for 275 VAC 50/60 Hz (ENEC) and 280 VAC (UL, cUL), with a recommended maximum DC voltage of 760 VDC.
Electrically, the dissipation factor is 0.1% maximum at 1 kHz and 0.8% at 10 kHz for this capacitance range. Insulation resistance corresponds to a time constant of ≥10,000 s for C > 0.33 µF. The factory test voltage between terminals is 2200 VDC. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to +105°C, with a climatic category of 55/105/56/B.
