The Littelfuse PGB1010402KR is a PULSE-GUARD polymeric ESD suppressor designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from electrostatic discharge (ESD). It provides bidirectional protection for a single line with a reverse standoff voltage of 12V and a typical clamping voltage of 250V. The device meets IEC 61000-4-2 standards with 8kV contact discharge and 15kV air discharge capability.
This ESD suppressor uses polymer composite materials to suppress fast-rising ESD transients while adding virtually no capacitance to the circuit, making it ideal for high-speed data protocols such as USB 2.0, IEEE1394, HDMI, and DVI. It is bi-directional, can withstand multiple ESD strikes, and is compatible with pick-and-place processes.
The PGB1010402KR is housed in a 0402 (1005 metric) surface mount package and operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 125°C. It is RoHS compliant and lead-free, but not halogen-free. Typical applications include HDTV hardware, laptops, network hardware, digital cameras, and set-top boxes.
