The Infineon Technologies PEF 24622 E V2.1 is a single-chip, 4-channel SHDSL transceiver that integrates all analog and digital functions required for SHDSL communication. It is fully compliant with ITU G.991.2 and ETSI TS 101524 standards, making it suitable for a wide range of DSL access multiplexers and integrated access devices.
Key features include a power consumption of less than 700 mW per channel, TCPAM linecode support with 2, 3, or 4 Bits/symbol, and synchronous or plesiochronous operation. The device incorporates an integrated microcontroller, SHDSL framer, tunable internal hybrid, and internal oscillator with PLL, simplifying system design and reducing bill of materials.
This transceiver supports central office (COT) and remote (RT) operation, offering universal 8-bit µC and TDM interfaces, as well as Utopia level 1/2 interface. It also includes two HDLC controllers for payload and EOC per channel and provides warmstart capability. The PEF 24622 E V2.1 is available in a 388-BBGA package and supports surface mount.
Potential applications include DSL Access Multiplexers, Multichannel Integrated Access Devices, Digital Loop Carriers, Voice Switches, and extended range T1/E1 replacement. It also supports 2B1Q mode for SDSL interoperability.
