The PLX Technology PCI9052 is a versatile PCI-to-local bus controller chip. It facilitates 32-bit, 16-bit, and 8-bit data transfers between the PCI bus and a local bus, which can operate asynchronously to the PCI clock. This device supports on-the-fly big/little endian byte conversion and offers 32-bit, 40MHz local bus operation.
The PCI9052 features a glueless ISA interface for cost-effective adapter designs and includes a serial EEPROM interface for loading configuration information, simplifying transitions from ISA designs. It is based on the architecture of the PCI 9050, allowing for easy software migration. The controller redirects current word or byte lanes during 8- or 16-bit local bus operations and maintains backwards compatibility with the PCI 9050. It provides five local address spaces independent from the PCI bus.
This component is supplied in a 160-pin QFP package suitable for SMD/SMT mounting. It operates within a voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V, with a nominal operating voltage of 5V. The maximum operating temperature is 85°C, and the minimum is -40°C. The maximum supply current is 130mA, and it supports a maximum frequency of 33MHz.
