PCI1225PDV Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments PCI1225PDV is a versatile PCI controller IC, compliant with multiple industry standards including PCI Local Bus Specification Revision 2.2, ACPI 1.0, and the 1997 PC Card Standard. This device features 3.3-V core logic with universal PCI interfaces compatible with both 3.3-V and 5-V PCI signaling environments.

Designed for flexibility, the PCI1225PDV supports mix-and-match 5-V/3.3-V 16-bit PC Cards and 3.3-V CardBus Cards. It enables the use of two PC Card or CardBus slots with hot insertion and removal capabilities, simplifying system design and maintenance. The controller utilizes a serial interface for power management and supports burst transfers for maximized data throughput on both PCI and CardBus buses.

With a pipelined architecture, it achieves greater than 130-MBps throughput from CardBus-to-PCI and vice versa. The device offers up to five general-purpose I/Os and programmable output select for CLKRUN. It is compatible with the Intel 430TX (Mobile Triton II) chipset and is packaged in a 208-pin low-profile QFP or a high-density ball grid array.

This controller is suitable for systems requiring robust PC Card and CardBus integration, offering advanced features for performance and ease of use. Its compatibility with various standards and chipsets makes it a flexible choice for embedded systems and portable computing devices.
