The PCF85134HL/1,118 is a single-chip LCD controller and driver designed by NXP Semiconductors. It interfaces with Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) with low multiplex rates, generating drive signals for static or multiplexed LCDs. This device supports up to four backplanes and 60 segments, capable of driving 30 7-segment alphanumeric characters, 15 14-segment alphanumeric characters, or graphics up to 240 elements. It can be cascaded for larger LCD applications.
The PCF85134HL/1,118 features a 60 x 4-bit display data storage RAM and communicates via a 400 kHz I2C-bus interface. It offers selectable backplane drive configurations (static, 2, 3, or 4) and display bias configurations (static, 1/2, or 1/3). The device operates with a wide logic supply range from 1.8 V to 5.5 V and an LCD supply range from 2.5 V to 6.5 V, allowing for separation of logic and LCD supplies.
This component is housed in an 80-LQFP (12x12 mm) package and is designed for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and has a low power consumption of 8 µA.
The PCF85134HL/1,118 can be used as a drop-in replacement for the PCF8534 without system circuit or firmware changes, provided minor differences in frequency frame and ESD test conditions are acceptable.
