The PCA9955TW/Q900,118 is a 16-channel linear LED driver IC manufactured by NXP Semiconductors. It is designed for backlight applications and provides constant current drive for up to 16 LEDs. Each output can sink up to 57mA, with a total LED supply voltage up to 40V. The device uses an I2C-bus interface (Fm+ standard, up to 1 MHz) for control, enabling individual PWM dimming at 31.25 kHz with duty cycles from 0% to 99.6%. A group PWM controller operates at 122 Hz (or from 15 Hz to once every 16.8 seconds) for global dimming. The driver is supplied from a 3V logic supply and includes internal switches. It is housed in a 28-HTSSOP package (28-TSSOP with exposed pad) for surface mount assembly. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
