The PCA9632DP1,118 is a 4-bit I2C-bus controlled LED driver from NXP Semiconductors, designed for Red/Green/Blue/Amber (RGBA) color mixing applications. It offers a significant power reduction compared to previous models.
This device provides individual brightness control for each LED output with 8-bit resolution (256 steps) at a fixed frequency of 1.5625 kHz. It also supports group dimming with 4-bit resolution (16 steps) at 190 Hz, and a blink mode with adjustable rates. The LED output drivers are configurable as open-drain with a 25 mA current sink capability or totem pole with 25 mA sink/10 mA source capability at 5V.
The PCA9632DP1,118 operates with a supply voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V, and its outputs are 5.5 V tolerant. It is suitable for direct connection to LEDs or for controlling external drivers for higher current or voltage LEDs. The device supports Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) I2C-bus operation up to 1 MHz.
