The Texas Instruments PCA9554ARGVR is an 8-bit remote I/O expander that communicates via the I2C and SMBus protocols. It is designed for applications requiring general-purpose remote I/O expansion, supporting a wide operating supply voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V. The device features 5V tolerant I/Os and a fast I2C bus speed of up to 400kHz.
Key features include an open-drain active-low interrupt output, three hardware address pins allowing up to eight devices on the bus, and an input/output configuration register. At power-on, all I/Os are configured as inputs with a weak pull-up. The system master can configure these I/Os as either inputs or outputs.
