The PCA9306D,118 is a dual bidirectional I2C-bus and SMBus voltage-level translator from NXP Semiconductors. It is designed for bidirectional voltage translations between 1.0 V and 5 V without requiring a direction pin, operating from 1.0 V to 3.6 V (Vref(1)) and 1.8 V to 5.5 V (Vbias(ref)(2)).
This translator features auto-direction sensing and an enable (EN) input. When EN is HIGH, the translator switch is active, connecting I/O ports for bidirectional data flow. When EN is LOW, the switch is off, creating a high-impedance state. The device supports Standard-mode, Fast-mode, and Fast-mode Plus I2C-bus devices, as well as SMBus devices, with a maximum frequency generally supporting over 2 MHz.
The PCA9306D,118 is housed in an 8-SOIC package and is designed for surface mount applications. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 105°C (TA). Pull-up resistors are required on both sides of the translator for proper I2C-bus operation.
