The P6SMB68A from Littelfuse is a 600W peak pulse power unidirectional TVS diode designed for transient voltage protection. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 58.1V, a nominal breakdown voltage of 68V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 92V at 6.6A peak pulse current (10/1000μs waveform). The device is based on Zener technology and offers an extremely fast response time of typically less than 1.0 picosecond.
Ideal for protecting sensitive electronic circuits from lightning and other voltage transients, this TVS diode is suitable for I/O interfaces, VCC bus lines, and applications in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It provides a forward surge current rating of 100A (8.3ms) and maintains low reverse leakage current below 1μA.
The P6SMB68A is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package with gull wing leads, offering an optimized footprint for minimal PCB space. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and can be stored at -65°C to 175°C. Thermal resistance is 20°C/W junction-to-lead and 100°C/W junction-to-ambient. The device is RoHS and halogen free compliant.
