The P6SMB6.8A is a 600W unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 5.8V and a maximum clamping voltage of 10.5V at a peak pulse current of 58.1A under a 10/1000μs waveform. The device offers excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance.
This TVS diode is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package with a supplier device package designation of DO-214AA (SMBJ). It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and is suitable for general purpose applications including I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
The P6SMB6.8A is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, halogen free, and lead free with matte tin lead-free plating. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 and has a UL recognized compound meeting flammability classification V-0. The device is also UL recognized to ANSI/UL 497B for data communications and fire-alarm circuits.
