The Littelfuse P6SMB15A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 12.8 V and a maximum clamping voltage of 21.2 V at a peak pulse current of 28.8 A (10/1000 µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 600 W, this device provides robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
The P6SMB15A features a fast response time of less than 1 ps from 0 V to breakdown voltage, ensuring rapid clamping of transients. It also meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD requirements with 30 kV air and contact discharge ratings. The device is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. It is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and has an MSL level of 1 (unlimited) per J-STD-020. Operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C (junction).
