The P6KE6.8A is a 600W transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from On Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. It is a unidirectional Zener-type TVS with a reverse standoff voltage of 5.8V and a clamping voltage of 10.5V at 57A (8/20µs). The device can handle peak pulse power of 600W (10/1000µs) and has a steady state power dissipation of 5W. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C (datasheet indicates up to 175°C).
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications, including protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It features fast response time (<1ps) and low incremental surge resistance. The device is glass passivated with a DO-15 package, available in through-hole axial leaded format (T-18).
The P6KE6.8A is RoHS3 compliant and halogen free. It is designed for high temperature reflow soldering (260°C/30s). Note: There is a specification conflict regarding operating temperature range; the datasheet states -55 to 175°C while the database indicates -55 to 150°C. Caution should be exercised in high-temperature environments.
