The P6KE36A is a 600W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients caused by lightning and other events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 30.8V, a breakdown voltage of 36V (typical), and a clamping voltage of 49.9V at a peak pulse current of 12.2A for a 10/1000μs waveform. The device offers fast response time of less than 1.0ps and excellent ESD protection rated at 30kV for both air and contact discharge per IEC 61000-4-2.
With a peak pulse power dissipation of 600W (10/1000μs) and steady-state power dissipation of 5W on infinite heat sink, the P6KE36A is suitable for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus lines, and other circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications. The glass passivated junction ensures reliability, and the device is compatible with high-temperature reflow soldering (260°C for 30 seconds).
The P6KE36A is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) through-hole package with axial leads. It supports an operating junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and has typical thermal resistances of 20°C/W (junction-to-lead) and 75°C/W (junction-to-ambient). The components are lead-free with matte tin plating and rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability.
