The P6KE180A is a unidirectional TVS diode from the P6KE series by Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. Key specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 154V, a clamping voltage of 246V at 2.5A (10/1000μs waveform), and a peak pulse power dissipation of 600W. The device features a Zener breakdown mechanism with a fast response time of less than 1ps. It offers ESD protection up to 30kV (air) and 30kV (contact) per IEC 61000-4-2.
Packaged in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded through-hole package, the P6KE180A is suitable for high-temperature reflow soldering. It can handle a peak forward surge current of 100A (8.3ms) and has a maximum forward voltage of 3.5V (single die) or 5.0V (stacked die) at 50A. Steady state power dissipation is 5.0W with an infinite heat sink at 75°C lead temperature. Thermal resistance is 20°C/W junction-to-lead and 75°C/W junction-to-ambient.
