The P4SMA250A is a 400W peak pulse power TVS diode from the P4SMA series, manufactured by Littelfuse. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. This unidirectional Zener TVS diode offers a standoff voltage of 214V and a clamping voltage of 344V at a peak pulse current of 1.2A.
The device features a fast response time of less than 1.0ps, ensuring rapid clamping of transient voltages. It is capable of handling a peak forward surge current of 60A (8.3ms single half sine wave) and has a power dissipation of 3.3W on an infinite heatsink at 50°C lead temperature. The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 150°C, with a storage temperature range of -65°C to 175°C.
The P4SMA250A is housed in a surface mount DO-214AC (SMA) package, which is compact and suitable for high-density PCB layouts. The package is matte tin plated, lead-free, and halogen-free, meeting RoHS compliance and MSL level 1 requirements. The device is ideal for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
