The Littelfuse P4SMA170CA is a bidirectional TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 145V and a maximum clamping voltage of 234V at a peak pulse current of 1.8A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can handle 400W of peak pulse power dissipation under the same waveform conditions.
This TVS diode offers fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, making it suitable for high-speed transient protection. It is rated for ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact discharge) per IEC 61000-4-2. The bidirectional configuration allows protection of circuits where voltage can swing in both polarities.
