The P4SMA12A is a 400W peak pulse power TVS diode from Littelfuse Inc., part of the P4SMA series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. This unidirectional Zener diode offers a reverse standoff voltage of 10.2V and a clamping voltage of 16.7V, with a peak pulse current rating of 24.6A.
The device features a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, ensuring rapid clamping of transients. It is capable of withstanding a peak forward surge current of 60A (8.3ms single half sine wave). The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 150°C. It meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact).
The P4SMA12A is housed in a surface mount DO-214AC (SMA) package with matte tin lead-free plating. It is RoHS3 compliant, halogen-free, and meets MSL level 1 (unlimited). The plastic package is flammability rated V-0 per UL-94.
