P1800SCMC Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Littelfuse P1800SCMC is a SIDACtor protection thyristor from the MicroCapacitance SC series, designed for overvoltage protection in telecommunications and data transmission equipment. This bidirectional device features a peak off-state voltage (VDRM) of 170 V and a switching voltage (VS) of 220 V at 100 V/µs. With a low capacitance of 35 pF to 50 pF (at 1 MHz, 2 V bias), it is ideal for high-speed applications such as xDSL and T1/E1 lines where capacitive loading must be minimized.

The device can handle repetitive surge currents up to 200 A (8x20 µs waveform) and a single-cycle surge of 50 A at 50/60 Hz. It maintains a low on-state voltage (VT) of 4 V and a holding current (IH) of 150 mA. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to +150°C, with a storage range of -65°C to +150°C.

This SIDACtor comes in a compact DO-214AA surface mount package, making it suitable for automated assembly. It is non-RoHS compliant per the datasheet (parts with 'L' suffix are RoHS). Typical applications include secondary protection for telecom line cards, modems, and customer premises equipment, helping meet standards such as GR 1089, IEC 60950, UL 60950, TIA-968-A, and ITU K.20/K.21/K.45.
