The OmniVision OV3620 is a high-performance 3.2 megapixel CMOS image sensor designed for digital still and video camera products. It incorporates a 2048 x 1536 (QXGA) image array and a 10-bit A/D converter, capable of operating at up to 7.5 frames per second in full resolution mode.
Proprietary OmniPixel® technology enables advanced algorithms to cancel Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN), eliminate smearing, and reduce blooming, resulting in crystal-clear photographs with true colors, even in low-light conditions. The sensor offers flexible control of timing and operation, providing engineers with design freedom.
Key specifications include a 1/2" lens size, 3.18 µm pixel size, and a sensitivity of > 1 V/Lux-sec. The OV3620 supports progressive scan mode and outputs 10-bit digital RGB Raw data. It operates on a 3.3VDC / 1.8VDC power supply with active power consumption below 40 mA.
Applications for the OV3620 include digital still cameras, PC cameras, video conferencing, machine vision, security cameras, and biometrics. The device is available in a lead-free CLCC-48 package.
