The NUP3105LT3G is a dual-line bidirectional TVS diode designed for ESD and transient voltage protection on CAN bus interfaces in 24V systems. It is part of onsemi's NUP3105L series and delivers 350W peak power dissipation per line (8/20µs waveform), ensuring robust protection for automotive and industrial control networks.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum reverse working voltage (standoff voltage) of 32V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 35.6V at 1mA, and a low clamping voltage of 66V at 8A (8/20µs). The device also offers excellent ESD protection: IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge up to 30kV, HBM 8kV, and Machine Model 400V, along with IEC 61000-4-4 EFT immunity (50A) and IEC 61000-4-5 lightning surge capability (8A).
The NUP3105LT3G is housed in a compact surface-mount SOT-23-3 (TO-236, SC-59) package with gull-wing leads, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. Its low capacitance of 30pF (max) at 1MHz supports high-speed CAN data rates without signal degradation. The device is also compatible with industrial standards such as DeviceNet and Smart Distribution Systems (SDS).
